Movies

It happens more frequently than you would think- people bring up popular movies in conversation that I've never seen.  I'm so out of touch. What follows is a list of movies that I have NOT seen. Don't hate.

The Big Lebowski
Star Wars
Harry Potter
The Dark Knight rises
Back to the Future
Shawshank redemption
Lord of the Rings
Kill Bill
Casablanca

  1. Star Wars, Shawshank and Lord of the Rings are all worth the time and energy.

The Big Lebowski was much more of a high school thing, in that it appealed to many people at that age; on reflection it was more about the silly quotes than really any great cinematic experience. I intend to die before watching or reading a single Harry Potter related item.

Back the the Future was cool back in the day, some time in college and watching literally anything else that deals with the multiverse show how one sided and drab this take on time travel is.

Last Batman wasn't worth the energy, for all the setup of the second film it was meh. Bane just doesn't translate to the movie experience. You could watch the movie sins video about TDKR and have all the info you need about the movie. Seriously, it's like 6 minutes covers all the major plot developments without having to sit through the terrible cinema to go get it.

Kill Bill is just hyper-stylized violence filled ego-masturbation.

As for Casablanca, the blog post below I think really shows how little you need to watch these movies. I've spoken to women that claim to like the movies Casablanca represents, I find the characters to be horrible caricatures of broken people pretending to not be.
